Still sick :-(

Infections are no fun. I am still battling the one that I have, and it's been going on 3 weeks now. last weekend I was in the hospital dealing with it. Why is Motherhood so hard sometimes?

The reason I am so sick.....but he is a cute reason!

I have gotten a few things started during the couple days that I felt like a real person. I have cast on for the cowl, and have made it to round three. This I have to concentrate on so I can only work on it while the kids are asleep.

I also started my Irish Hiking Scarf. This will be a present for my Brother. Maybe for his birthday, I have until December so I am sure I'll get it finished. I'm pretty proud of it so far. I thought cables would be hard but I am really enjoying making them.

I bought some Encore to make an afghan. I love the feel of the yarn and I love that I can throw it in the washer and dryer. Once I got home with all my yarn I realized that EVERYTHING is in the brown family. I need to make a quick project with some color, so I made these. Wonderfully mindless knitting, and they work really well to wash dishes!

Tomorrow is Easter and I am cooking the big dinner this year. I am not sure how much knitting I will get done tonight since my goal is to bake the cakes and pies. And of course tomorrow I'll probably be in the kitchen all day, either cooking or cleaning up!

Sorry you're still poorly, but look at that little smile. Makes it all worth it doesn't it?

Hope you are feeling a little better now, Jenn. I like the cabled scarf you've started...aren't cables relaxing?

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I just started it, and it's nice to get comments. I'll be sure to keep up with yours.

BTW, you must live close by. I shop at Filati's too.

Hi Jenn! Thanks for stopping by my blog. :) I hope you are feeling better soon!

I've only been to Filati's once, and I had kind of a bad experience my first time there, so I haven't been back. I went on a Saturday in January, when the store was under construction. I only needed to get a pair of dpns, but I could barely get to the needles because there were about 10 people sitting around a table knitting, right in front of the needle wall. They were totally oblivious to the fact that people were trying to get behind them to the needles. I finally was able to reach behind a couple people to get what I needed, and got out of there as quick as I could. I didn't even get a chance to look at the yarn selection because the store was so crowded. Hopefully it is better now that they have more space!

Luckily, I have two other yarn stores within 2 miles of my house. :) I would like to go back to Filati sometime though - I think they carry Koigu, and I'd like to try making some Koigu socks sometime.

Is the encore you are using the acrylic/wool mix? I've been eyeing that to make a Big Bad Baby Blanket from Stitch 'n Bitch.

Your little one is such a cutie!
